Our Space – Te Papa's spectacular new multimedia adventure. Create your vision of New Zealand with this new, state-of-the-art interactive – mix it, own it, share it.

Our Space, the Map

Take a walk on The Map and trigger New Zealand into action.
Get the adrenalin pumping with The High Ride.
Log onto The Wall and leave your mark on its giant artistic interface.
Visit a virtual volcano 2000 metres under the sea on The Deep Ride.
Level 2. Free entry, admission charges apply for the Our Space rides.

Discovery Centres

Hey kids, do you know that Te Papa has four kid-size places especially for you? They're called Discovery Centres and they’re full of hands-on fun. Ask a Te Papa Host to show you the way!

Saturday 27 September
Weave a kooky kite badge. Te Huka ā Tai

Sunday 28 
Produce a pretty pohutukawa brooch. NatureSpace

Monday 29
Inspiration Station Discovery Hour – Take on the Trash-to-Fashion Challenge. 11am–12 noon. Free entry.

Tuesday 30  
Construct a crazy coat of arms. Inspiration Station

Wednesday 1 October
Make a ukulele brooch for International Music Day. PlaNet Pasifika

Thursday 2
2pm–3pm. Create a terrific taniwha (monster) from recycling. NatureSpace

Friday 3
NatureSpace Discovery Hour – ‘Bring a Rock’ with Dr. Hamish Campbell. Come on over for a rockin’ time. 11am–12 noon. Free entry     

Saturday 4  
Construct a koru (spiral pattern) mobile of carvings. Te Huka ā Tai

Sunday 5
Perform with a penguin sock puppet. Inspiration Station

Monday 6
Te Huka ā Tai Discovery Hour – Manaaki I Te Taiao (Care for the environment). 11am–12pm. Free entry

Tuesday 7  
Fashion a fantastic Tongan fan. PlaNet Pasifika

Wednesday 8
NatureSpace Family Day – Come and Meet New Zealand's Dinosaurs of Today!  Come along and join in these fun events! Pin the third eye on the tuatara; go on a fossil hunt; build a dinosaur kingdom; get your face painted like a reptile; collage a clever cardboard tuatara($2 per cardboard tuatara); design a stomping dinosaur badge (cost $2 per badge)!
10am–4pm. NatureSpace, Level 2. Free entry, except where stated.

Thursday 9
2pm–3pm. Decorate a Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) bookmark. Te Huka ā Tai

Saturday 11
Make a magnificent badge to wear back to school. PlaNet Pasifika

Sunday 12
Transform a tin can into a jazzy pencil holder. Inspiration Station
