From our hosts to our cafes, parking to parents' rooms, Te Papa has a full range of services and facilities to make your visit comfortable, informative, and enjoyable.

Te Papa hosts

Need help finding your way around Te Papa? Te Papa hosts will be delighted to provide you with information. You’ll recognise Te Papa hosts by their distinctive blue or terracotta shirts.

Information desk | Tēpu Pārongo

Our hosts at the Information Desk, Level 2, can give you up-to-date information on our exhibitions, events, entertainment, and all our facilities. You can also hire our Audio Guide here, purchase Te Papa Explorer, and make bookings for our regular tours.

Parking

Open and covered parking space is available at Te Papa seven days a week. We cater for all visitor requirements, including facilities for people with disabilities and special arrangements for buses. more>

Parents' Rooms

Te Papa has two Parents’ Rooms that contain sinks, bottle and food warmers, nappy-changing and disposal facilities, as well as private breast-feeding areas. One Parents’ Room is located on Level 2 by the entrance to StoryPlace. The other Parents’ Room is on Level 1 in Te Papa Cafe by the children’s play area. There are also nappy-changing facilities in the women’s toilets on Level 4 by the Marae.

The Te Papa Cafe and Espresso are welcoming you on level 1 and level 4. more>

Our range of engaging and informative tours and visitor guides enrich the experience of any visit. more>

Library and Information Centre

Te Aka Matua Library and Information Centre offers a welcoming area for visitors to browse a selection of books and magazines, a reference collection of photographs linked to Te Papa’s exhibitions and collections, and Tai Awatea | Knowledge Net - Te Papa’s online multimedia database. more>
